Internet/BDC Sales Supervisor

Summary:

Directly supervises all employees of the BDC and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Holman and manufacturer culture. Design marketing programs to grow the department, recruit and train BDC Associates, implement sales strategies, and develop tracking systems to measure department & individual performance standards. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Oversees BDC Associates in scheduling appointments for vehicle service, Parts and F&I product after-sales.  The BDC Manager should be familiar with contemporary Internet/e-commerce processes and be thoroughly familiar with the characteristics of an effective web site. The manager needs to have a firm understanding of departmental budgeting as it relates to revenue & expense structure.

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Assist in establishing a newly-formatted Business Development Center, strategic goals and action plans.
  • Help develop and monitor the success of the Business Development Center objectives. 
  • Supervise staff training, motivational and incentive programs, and adherence to personnel policies and standards.
  • Work closely with our BDC vendor-- UDC—to develop script and call-handling strategies.
  • Ensure staff is trained in product knowledge & software systems, and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Monitor staff productivity and quota levels, and recommend policy changes or training to improve performance.
  • Prepare staff productivity reports including the weekly contact log and monthly appointment show report.
  • Meet regularly with dealership management to review opportunities to expand BDC functions. 
  • Assist with the development and administration of department performance reviews.
  • Participate in employee recruiting, development, evaluation, and work planning.
  • Complete other duties that may be assigned.
  • Place/monitor outbound calls to customers who are past due for service, have declined work, have open recalls, have special order parts in stock, are due for 1st service, etc., to schedule them for an appointment.
  • Supervise confirming & reminder calls to customers with upcoming appointments to ensure effective shop-loading. 
  • Supervise incoming calls from customers who are calling to set up appointments with our service center.     
  • Use recorded calls as coaching opportunities
  • Complete call metrics Daily and turn in for tracking purposes.

 

SUPERVISORY EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

 

  • One year of related Internet sales Management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Sales skills, great communication, and excellent customer service skills are a must. 
  • Current valid driver’s license is required for all employees.

Role Summary

 

The Manager, Procurement, Auto Truck Group (ATG) is a new position within the ARI Global Product Management Team.   A working manager with responsibilities across all direct spend categories including, large assemblies (truck bodies, cranes), small parts, tires, and other materials and services used in direct manufacturing of upfit vehicles.  Initial focus is on centralizing the procurement competency, strategically supporting ATG’s twelve North American locations.  A successful candidate is a self-motivated, strong communicator across all organizational levels, with innate curiosity, and the ability to pull different ideas together and challenge status quo.

 

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to operations in the area of strategic sourcing, procurement services and vendor management.
  • Work closely with the ATG Supply Chain Manager and purchasing team to ensure that procurement of manufacturing critical materials and services is executed in support of business priorities and overall strategy.
  • Responsible for developing the governance framework for the procurement function within Auto Truck Group focused on reducing business risk and improving bottom line performance.
  • Assist the ATG supply chain organization in delivering optimized supplier value in terms of cost, execution, and quality while reducing the number of suppliers utilized across all ATG locations.
  • Manage the procurement process, ensuring that all Company policies and procedures are adhered to by personnel involved with the procurement, purchasing and supply chain functions.
  • Work closely with the ARI Vendor Management group to provide feedback on vendor performance (cost, quality and execution) and follow up with resolutions including involvement in periodic vendor audits.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPM, CPSM or equivalent preferred.
  • Key Competencies: Collaboration, Procurement, Project Management, Clear Articulator, Strategy Development, Interpersonal.

 

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 10-15 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing business environment, both domestically and internationally preferred.
  • Experience implementing strategic sourcing plans in support of business unit operations (balancing cost, risk and performance).
  • Advanced understanding of supply chain procedures, processes, and core values.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis.

 

Communicating & Influencing Skills:

  • Ability to develop influencing relationships with varying levels of management and individual contributors from various business units.
  • Ability to bring or develop an external professional network to maintain awareness of procurement trends.
  • Experienced in negotiating contracts valued in excess of $1M.  Clear understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
  • Experienced in the development and implementation of supplier management practices and/or processes on an enterprise basis, including SLAs, KPIs, and governance models.

 

Special Requirements:

  • Build partnerships with all locations and business functions and ensure procurement is involved at the earliest stage of the buying process.   Establish KPI for early stage procurement involvement.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a breadth of prior, challenging experiences, including leading broad change management initiatives.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working in a matrix environment.

What will you do?

  • Greets customer on sales floor and performs a needs analysis including make, type, and features of vehicle desired.
  • Explains features and demonstrates operation of vehicle in showroom or on road.
  • Researches availability of models and optional equipment using computer database.
  • Works with Sales and F&I Managers and negotiates sales price, including tax, trade-in allowance, license fee, and discount, and requirements for financing or      lease payment of vehicle.
  • Walks the lot and visually inspects inventory.
  • Completes all paperwork and arranges for delivery and registration of vehicle.
  • Delivers and familiarizes the customer with vehicle.
  • Attends/completes required training and department meetings.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

 

What are we looking for?

  • High School Diploma and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Sales skills, great communication, and excellent customer service skills are a must.
  • Organization and thorough follow-up skills are necessary for staying in touch with the client prior to and after the sale.
  • Current valid driver’s license is required for all employees.
  • Mathematical skills including, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

JOB SUMMARY

Implement quality control standards, processes, and controls.  Develop methods for inspection and training.   Assist during client audits, OEM audits, and conduct internal audits.  Evaluate production capabilities and recommend improvements. Assist in developing quality control policies and procedures.  Ensures the quality control system meets customer and company requirements.

 

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manages overall aspects of the Quality Control Department including receiving and final inspections.
  • Manages QC Supervisors and Inspectors to ensure proper allocation of workforce .
  • Report Quality results and opportunities for improvement to Operations leadership (Plant Managers, General Managers) at least weekly.
  • Develops sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions for use by manufacturing to monitor and reduce variations.
  • Leads teams that include customer and/or supplier representatives to identify and permanently resolve problems, and to nurture the customer relationship.
  • Develops training programs on topics such as inspection techniques and proper documentation.
  • Identify appropriate training topics for our install technicians, and partner with the Operations team to develop and execute this training.
  • Review and approve customer and supplier surveys.

  • Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of vehicle systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

 

 

 

PREFERRED

  • BS degree in Engineering, Business, or Science related field.
  • Six Sigma background, such as green belt or black belt
  • ASQ certification would be a plus.

What are we looking for?

  • 2-3+ years of previous electrical, welding/fabrication, hydraulic, mechanical, and equipment assembly experience required.
